"Emma in the Night" is a psychological thriller that will remain in my thoughts for some time. The writing was spectacular. Truly unflawed. And the plot was beautifully crafted, intricate but believable. The characters were complex and disturbed and interacted beautifully.
But what I cannot shake was the description of Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD) and the way it permeates throughout the characters and is a part of the ultimate fate. The way NPD is described at the end of chapter two - when Abby goes to her knees in the Yale library - this is *exactly* what it does feel like. So spot on.
And so like the entire story.
