This book is adorable, both the story and the art.
There are a couple images that still make me smile even after putting down the book ... when Freckles "flies" through the air, when Freckles actually laughs and when Freckles finally "gets it" and sleeps at night and gets food in the morning.
It is additionally a loose/introductory teaching tool about the food chain (human and cat).
I was a little surprised that the ending came as suddenly as it did, but I guess we all knew what was going to happen. :)
