Obtaining publishers reviews | My books come from a variety of sources. Top 5:
For current large print books, I know most of mine are published mainly by the following three (these are on my shelf now):
The Large Print Book Co. P.O. Box 970 Sanbornville, NH 03872-0970 Call Us: (866) 569-4125 Send us an e-mail at: [email protected] I read most reviews at Goodreads.com. I trust them and have a group of "friends" that read similar books. I also trust Kirkus Reviews for no reason but my dad's discussion of them for many years. Additionally, whenever I have a book I love and I check it on Kirkus, most likely, there is a good review there too. I like the quick lists from BuzzFeed but think maybe they're click bait as much as true book lists. Like I don't know who vets these people writing the reviews. Mostly, I'll use them to hear about an author I'd never heard of before. The L.A. Times have a good book list (regionally) and the New York Times is of course well known for their bestseller lists. |
This is mostly a discussion of large print reading for publishers but I also look at obtaining books and look at reviews for all books.
