My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I am literally astounded by the words on these pages. This novel is a psychological thriller if you don't mind the lack of dead bodies. Wow. Impressive. I was gripped from page one. That a nineteen-year-old Cathy Coote - let alone any age - was able to so well explore the mind of a clearly deranged, not sure what this psychosis would be girl amazes me. To me, the writing is beautiful and eloquent. I read the relatively short book in a day and now am disheartened to see that there is no follow-up, no other fiction from this talented woman. I want background; how could the author describe the seductions so personally, in such detail? I despise the character, yet I want to know the character too. I am taken by what a great piece of fiction this is. And this is a perfect example of why I try not to be influenced by reviews! I would not have read the book; in fact, it was in my hands only to list it on a book swap site! And I took a peek and just couldn't stop. I have no reservations with this 5-star rating.
I cannot find any information on this author. I would love to know about her.
