Jane Casey
4.1 out of 5.0
I really enjoy Jane Casey's Maeve Kerrigan books. The seventh one, Let the Dead Speak, did not disappoint. As usual, her characters are so well defined and she doesn't skimp on details about them. You can still enjoy as a standalone but totally worth reading the first six as you'll get more insight.
Maeve has to break through some serious barriers to get the truth. It's good interplay between the those "protecting" Chloe and Maeve. These characters are not kind people and they all become suspects quickly. The novel has all the parts I look for in suspense - complex with plot twists but still not contrived. A story that keeps me turning the pages. But this one even has some humor; not in your face but it's there. And I loved it.
I highly recommend this wonderful and suspenseful police procedural to others who enjoy the genre. Great writing. I'll be waiting for the next.
